"Junior Software Developer (part-time)"

The Director of ICS announces a selection procedure for the position of Junior Software Developer (part-time).

At ICS MUNI (Institute of Computer Science), we provide operation and development of the IT infrastructure of Masaryk University. Beyond that, we also participate in the development of the National Data Infrastructure (NDI), a platform for sharing, managing, and accessing data and computing resources for research purposes.

In connection with the development of data repositories and their integration into the NDI environment, we are looking for a new team member for the position of Junior Software Developer.

What can you expect in this position?

Under the guidance of a senior developer, you will take part in the development of software solutions that will be integrated into larger system units.

You can look forward to:

• working with technologies such as RDF, REST API, data structures, version control systems, and interfaces (APIs),
• code adjustments, bug fixes, and functionality testing,
• implementation of partial and, over time, more extensive development tasks assigned by a senior developer (e.g., development of modules, components, scripts),
• cooperation in the preparation of documentation and demo versions,
• gaining experience in the field of semantic web, standards, and open science,
• participation in internal meetings, planning, and results sharing.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a teammate with basic technical skills and the motivation to grow. You don’t need to know everything – what matters more is your willingness to learn, collaborate, and develop.

We will appreciate if you:

• have at least some programming experience (e.g., in Python, Java, or another language),
• are familiar with working with data and web technologies,
• know the basics of version control systems (e.g., Git),
• can work independently on a task, but also function well in a team, receive feedback, and communicate effectively,
• have at least a completed bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field,
• have knowledge of Czech language.
