Reference No. 2025/176.The Department of Literature, Art and Media Studies in the Faculty of Humanities, limited to a maximum of 6 years, seeks to fill this position by April the 1st, 2026.The junior professorship addresses questions in the field of text/image/media theories and practices in the light of current developments in media technology. The call for applications is aimed at applicants from the fields of literature, art or media studies. An outline of a relevant post-doctoral project in the above-mentioned field is expected.The junior professorship has a teaching load of 4 SWS (until the interim evaluation) or 6 SWS (after successful interim evaluation) and is integrated into the various degree programmes of the department, in particular the B.A./M.A. Literature-Art-Media. Where appropriate, the candidate will also teach in the B.A. Literatures-Cultures-Languages, the philological B.Ed./M.Ed. programmes, the M.A. Literary Studies, M.A. Global European Studies or the B.A. minor in Gender Studies. The professorship is funded by the Centre for Cultural Inquiry (ZKF). Collaboration in the research contexts of the Centre is expected.
Recruitment requirements are a completed university degree, teaching skills and experience, and an excellent doctorate. If the candidate has been employed as an academic staff member before or after the doctorate in Germany, the doctorate and employment phase together should not have lasted more than 6 years. The appointment is made as a temporary civil servant, initially as an academic staff member.In all other respects, the hiring requirements for junior professorships follow from § 51 para. 2,3 of the Landeshochschulgesetz.
