Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Kaitohutohu Ako | Learning Advisor to provide specialist teaching/learning support to promote student learning through the development of academic writing and study skills, designed to enhance student retention, completion and academic achievement. This role will involve preparing and teaching into university courses and seminars, conducting consultations with students, developing and maintaining up-to-date flexible and blended learning resource material for staff and students, and supporting staff and students via regular contact and communications.

Mōu | Who You Are

You are someone with excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills who keeps up with the latest developments in learning and teaching. To be successful in this role you will have:

Master’s degree required, PhD would be advantageous.

Significant teaching (minimum 5 years) in curriculum and/ or a relevant teaching qualification.

Professional skill or knowledge in the area of adult education and learning.

Experience in developing and delivering learning, academic writing and study skills programmes via face to face or online.

Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high quality outcomes.

Competence in Microsoft Office Suite programmes.

This role sits within the Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies General Staff Collective Employment Agreement (page 17, Learning Advisors). The salary appointed will be based on skills and experience.
