The Department of Marine Systems Engineering consists of three chairs: Ship and Marine Dynamics (Marine Hydrodynamics, and Marine Dynamics and Control), Structural Engineering of Ship and Marine Systems (Structural Systems, and Fatigue, Fracture, Welding Mechanics and Production Systems), and Marine Systems Design (Functional Systems Engineering, Ship Design and Maritime Intelligence Technology, and Ocean Energy Resources). Additionally, the department has a chair, Systems Planning, in an endowed course of Naval Architecture and Marine System Engineering Human Resource Development which was established at the urging of related industries.
The associate professor or assistant professor will belong to the chair of Structural Engineering of Ship and Marine Systems and will be in charge of teaching and research related to structural strength estimation, safety assessment including structural reliability and structural optimization and vibration of ships and offshore structures, and their structural components.
The role will also be to promote academic exchange with universities at home and abroad and collaborative research with domestic private companies.

Wages description: The annual salary system, which was introduced on 1st of April 2020, will be applied. The annual salary is determined in accordance with the university's pay scale based on experience, etc.

Working hours: 08:30-17:15
Break time: 12:00-13:00
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and the period from the 29th of December to the 3rd of January
Overtime and other explanations: Based on the discretionary labor system for professional work based by consent, it is regarded that working hours are 7 hours and 45 minutes irrespective of how much time the employee actually spends on his/her work.
