About the DevTech Research Group
The DevTech Research Group, led by Professor Marina Umaschi Bers, investigates how innovative technologies can support children's learning and development. The group brings together an interdisciplinary team of undergraduates, graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and volunteers.
Position Summary
The Lab Manager will oversee daily operations of the DevTech lab and support a wide range of research, administrative, and organizational activities. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and excited about working at the intersection of education, child development, and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics for multiple research projects
- Prepare documents, grant reports, and proposals
- Maintain lab files, databases, and organizational systems
- Manage lab email accounts, website updates, and social media presence
- Track budgets, process reimbursements, and monitor expenditures
- Organize meetings, travel, and events for lab members
- Supervise and support undergraduate assistants and high-school summer interns
- Assist in planning and coordinating DevTech summer programs for educators and teachers
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and ensure smooth lab operations
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $53,000 to $65,000; salary commensurate with relevant experience. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position funded for two years, with the possibility of extension based on fit and funding.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Creative problem-solving and initiative in improving systems
- Comfort with online communication and digital tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or interest in children, education, child development, or educational technologies
- Direct experience working with young children and/or educators
