Lab Techs are the front line of customer service for the Department of Cinematic Arts Equipment Room, assisting students and faculty members with equipment for classes and productions. A Lab Tech is able to problem solve, take initiative at finding and completing tasks, inspect equipment for damages, perform routine maintenance and maintain an organized workspace.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide exceptional face-to-face or remote customer service to students, faculty and staff.
• Maintain equipment inventory.
• Thoroughly inspect equipment before and after each rental.
• Conduct equipment rentals (check outs) and returns (check ins).
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of Equipment Room and common spaces.
• Educate customers on appropriate set up, use, and care of equipment and rooms.
• Learn new cinema technology and pass that knowledge along to peers and customers.
• Train current students, faculty, and staff on equipment and rooms.
• Perform other non-routine tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Be on time to assigned shifts.
• Establish and maintain clear and open communication with staff and supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Attend Community College of Aurora Department of Cinematic Arts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Be comfortable with Apple/Mac computer technology for inventory & communication.
• Be able move and lift heavy equipment (up to 50lbs).
• Be able to work in a loud environment.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must have completed FAFSA on file
• Must be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hours
• Must NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelor's Degree
• Must be seeking an eligible program of study
