"Laboratory Instructor, Department of Biological Sciences"

The Department of Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for an entry-level, full-time, tenure-track appointment for a Laboratory Instructor, commencing July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.

You will contribute to the continued success of the Biological Sciences Major within MacEwan’s Bachelor of Science degree. You will minimally hold an MSc in Biological Sciences and have expertise in one or more areas of biology that will support laboratory instruction in our program. All applicable areas of expertise will be considered; however, priority will be given to applicants with previous lab instruction experience in molecular biology. A proven commitment to student-centered, evidence-based laboratory pedagogy is desired.

You will support delivery of the core courses in the Biological Sciences Major by providing laboratory instruction in BIOL 107 (Introduction to Cell Biology), BIOL 108 (Introduction to Evolution), BIOL 205 (Principles of Molecular Biology), BIOL 207 (Principles of Genetics), and/or BIOL 208 (Principles of Ecology). A significant portion of the instruction will be completed at the 100-level. You will also assist in preparation of lab manuals and design of lab assessments, and provide support for curriculum development in these core labs in collaboration with our Laboratory Supervisors.
