Laboratory Technician
Posting Summary
Lab technician and mentor of visiting students in a National Science Foundation funded community-focused laboratory for the preparation of cosmogenic nuclide samples. Primary functions include conducting chemical and physical mineral separations to isolate mineral phases from samples, conducting chemical extractions in an isotopic clean laboratory, supervising lab users in simple methods, and serving as an ambassador for visiting students and faculty.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Earth Science, or Geology. At least 6 months of full time, hands-on laboratory work experience including handling strong acids and hazardous materials. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of isotopic dating techniques and applications. Experience working in a high-trust community. Experience interfacing professionally with graduate students and faculty.
Anticipated Pay Range
$22.34/hour to $24/hour

Anticipated start date is fall 2026.
