The UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads UNSW’s efforts to make a positive and lasting impact on society, promoting equity and social justice, and driving engagement activities which enhance UNSW’s reputation as a key contributor to society through its research, teaching, and community engagement.

Details of the role

The Learning Experiences Officer supports the social inclusion work of UNSW by developing content for learning experiences as part of the educational outreach program, and other initiatives related to student equity. The position will work in collaboration with various members of the Division, particularly those within Learning Experiences.

The role reports to the Learning Experiences Manager and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Extensive experience in the design and delivery of educational activities and learning experiences for pre-tertiary (high school) students.
  • Experience delivering training and workshops within an education setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end project management, relationship management and delivery, including the capability to manage programs focused on specific outcomes that engage staff and students across diverse groups.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to facilitate group discussions and deliver presentations.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including time management and organisational skills, with a proven ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and to work both autonomously and collaboratively across multi-function teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders both internal and external.
