Lecturer 12 (PRODIG Plus), College of Business

The Management Area in the College of Business at Stony Brook University seeks to hire and mentor a new faculty member through the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus PRODiG Plus Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. PRODiG Plus is designed with two primary goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of those faculty. Additional information on the PRODiG Plus Fellowship can be found at http://www.suny.edu/prodig-plus/fellowship/.

The position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level to commence in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed for 2 years at an annual salary of $80,000 with comprehensive state benefits. The PRODiG Plus fellow will be part of a mentored research environment, with funds to support research and a modest teaching load (2 courses per year). The position is intended to support a productive post-doctoral research period. At the completion of this two-year position, fellows with an upward trajectory of scholarly achievement and a demonstrated contribution to inclusion, diversity, and equity will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at Stony Brook University through an internal promotion process.

We are seeking a PRODiG Plus Fellow who can help catalyze our campus’ commitment to inclusive solutions-driven research and scholarship in the areas of Organizational Behavior, Strategy, or Entrepreneurship. As a public university dedicated to addressing society’s greatest challenges through research and education, we understand a genuine commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is key to academic excellence, new discoveries, and societal change. PRODiG Plus Fellows will engage in scholarship and teaching in clusters that represent key areas in Stony Brook’s current and growing strengths, bringing a commitment to advancing DEI through research, pedagogical advances, and service in the Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship Area in the College of Business and the broader Stony Brook campus.

  • Demonstrated ability, or potential, to publish in premier management or management-related journals
  • Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experiences may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service, or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching
  • Demonstrated ability, or potential, to engage in productive interdisciplinary collaboration

  • From a low-income background (e.g. Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.

The PRODiG Plus Fellowship is open to any and all prospective candidates regardless of race, color, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law.
