Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Management
East Stroudsburg University's Department of Business Management is looking for a Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Management. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country's largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Management must be able to teach multiple subdisciplines of Management at both the bachelors and masters levels. Ability to teach other business disciplines is a plus as is industry experience. Ability to teach both in person and using distance education is preferred. Final determination will be based upon a successful interview, which will include a teaching demonstration.
To be successful in this position, candidates must be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate students, to develop syllabi and to advise students on their academic programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update course syllabi aligned with departmental AACSB standards.
- Teaches assigned undergraduate and graduate business management courses.
- Assess student learning outcomes and implements pedagogical improvements.
- Provides academic advising and supports students' academic and career planning.
- Engage in scholarly activity through research, publications, or professional contributions that maintain AACSM academic qualifications
- Participates in departmental, college, and university committees.
- Contributes to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or Business Administration with a concentration in Management from an AACSB-accredited university.
- Candidates holding a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a closely related field will be considered and will be required to achieve AACSB academic qualification within 2 years.
- Candidates who are ABD will be considered but will need to complete their dissertation defenses by August 2026.
- Ability to teach multiple business management subdisciplines both in-person and distance education formats.
- Candidates should be able to think critically and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems independently, make independent decisions that support the needs of the University and its students.
- Technical skills: Excel (formulas, pivot tables, graphs); learning management systems (e.g., D2L, Canvas); Word (reports, formatting); MS Teams.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
