About the DepartmentThe Department of Applied Economics (APEC) supports the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Science's (CFANS) and the University of Minnesota's land-grant mission through its teaching, research, and extension programs. APEC's teaching programs include Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Economics and Agricultural & Food Business Management, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Applied Economics. Its research and extension focus are broadly defined as Food Systems; Development, Growth, & Trade; Environmental & Resource Economics; and Public Sector Economics.
APEC is the administrative home for the Sustainability Studies Minor, which is jointly run with the Institute on the Environment.
The Sustainability Studies Minor immerses undergraduate students in the exploration of real-world problems from a variety of academic perspectives, incorporating disciplines from across the natural, social and applied sciences.
Pay and BenefitsPay Range: $5,000 - $6,500; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
