Lecturer (Academic Level B) - Computer Science and IT

- Salary: $120,908 – $142,769 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

The Opportunity
As a Lecturer, you will contribute to high‑quality teaching, curriculum design, and student learning across your discipline. You will deliver units that support students in successfully navigating their academic journey, from undergraduate through to postgraduate study.
You will play an active role in the school’s research culture by producing high‑quality publications, developing grant proposals, and supervising research students. Your work will support the school’s broader academic strategy by fostering strong collaborations across the University and contributing to a vibrant scholarly community.
This role also includes building productive partnerships with industry, discipline networks, and professional bodies. You will help position the school as a leader in research‑informed teaching and maintain strong engagement with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like:
Deliver high‑quality teaching, unit coordination, assessment, and curriculum design. Contribute to research outputs including publications, grants, and supervision. Build strong relationships across the School, University, and discipline partners. Support students to achieve academic success and pursue research pathways. Engage actively in School and Faculty meetings, administration, and governance.

About You
A doctoral qualification in the area of Computer Science, Information and Communications Technology or related fields, preferably with specialisation in cybersecurity, distributed systems, cloud and edge computing, software engineering, Internet of Things, computer graphics, or information systems. Demonstrated tertiary teaching capability with positive student and peer feedback. Evidence of research achievement with demonstrable impact as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in high-quality conferences and journals, national and international research collaborations, research-related awards and other evidence of research quality and impact. Ability to obtain competitive research funding from a range of sources, including Australian Research Council grants, income from other public sector and private sector agencies and/or industry. Experience supervising Honours or postgraduate research students. Ability to build networks with industry, academic, and professional stakeholders.
