Lecturer and advisor in Public Administration and Organizational Science
Join the Department of Public Administration (USBO) as a (junior) lecturer-advisor in Public Administration! Based in the Public Governance chair group, you'll play a key role in teaching, consulting, and contract research. Ideally, you'll be able to start soon.
What are you going to do?
In its education, research, and societal impact, USBO focuses on the study of governance and organization, focusing on public issues and interacting with political and societal developments. As a lecturer-advisor, you can be deployed broadly in education, both within the Bachelor's program in Public Administration and Organization Science, the associated minor, and the (executive) Master's programs. The study of theory is always combined with a focus on practical applications, attention to professional skills, and the ambition to make an impact. You find it important, enjoyable, and challenging to develop your broad educational skills.
At USBO, consulting and commissioned research means conducting practice-oriented research commissioned by external partners. This doesn't involve scientific research in the sense of fundamental or theoretical research, but rather practice-oriented advice and analyses for external clients, with a direct societal impact. You'll collaborate with colleagues on multiple assignments each year.
The ratio between teaching and consulting/commissioned research is generally 60/40% but can change depending on demand. The teaching package is determined annually in consultation, based on expertise, ambition, and experience.
