Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Organizational Behaviour/Human Resource Management (OB/HRM) - Limited Term Appointment
The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Lazaridis School) at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for four one-year Limited Term Appointment positions, at the rank of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour/Human Resource Management (OB/HRM) area. Two of these positions will commence May 1, 2026, and the other two will commence September 1, 2026. The home campus of the positions is in Waterloo. The positions are subject to final budgetary approval.
Anticipated Salary Range: $89,919 to $125,000. Actual salary to be commensurate with experience.
The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching core and elective OB/HRM courses in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, with a regular teaching load of 6 courses, and engaging in service activities for the OB/HRM area.
Qualifications for these appointments include:
- A PhD (or near completion) with an emphasis in Organizational Behaviour, Human Resources, or related discipline;
- Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA) levels: Applicants should demonstrate evidence of a strong teaching record through teaching evaluations, testimonials, letters of reference, etc.;
- Demonstrated ability to teach a broad range of OB/HRM courses: Applicants should clearly identify their prior experience and ability to teach OB/HRM courses. Prior successful experience in teaching Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour (macro), and/or Organizational Behaviour (micro) at the undergraduate level preferred;
- Willingness and capacity to teach in any term as may be needed (Note: both BBA and MBA courses are offered across three terms – Fall, Winter, and Spring);
- Demonstrated ability to deal with student management issues such as timely grade assessments and academic misconduct;
- Verifiable capacity to work as part of a faculty teaching team to ensure consistency across classes in a multi-section course including but not limited to teaching coordinated course content, meeting deadlines for drafting assignments and examinations, meeting deadlines for marking assignments and examinations, and meeting deadlines for return of assignments and examinations;
- University-level experience teaching in a business school environment;
- Willingness and capacity to take on substantial service responsibilities as may be required;
- Strong commitment to collegiality, and ability and willingness to work collaboratively within the department.
