Robinson has broken the business school mold by assembling a faculty encompassing business practitioners, researchers, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians. These experts ensure Robinson students build business acumen and sector‐crossing skills in STEM fields, college partners benefit from broader thinking, and collaborate on pioneering, interdisciplinary research to develop breakthrough market solutions.
The college has 12 academic units and offers two MBA programs, 15 master’s, three graduate certificates in innovation, two doctoral programs (a Ph.D. program with 11 areas of study and a Doctor of Business Administration), and 11 undergraduate majors.
It offers a suite of signature programs, including WomenLead, its nationally recognized undergraduate leadership program, and week‐long residencies for high‐performing students on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.
Robinson has broad and deep relationships with the Atlanta business community through its insight (analytics) labs focusing on fintech, operations, and social media. The college also is home to discipline‐specific roundtables in financial leadership, human resources, logistics, marketing, and sales.
Position Description
The J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University invites applications for one or more Non-tenure-track (NTT) Lecturer positions to begin in Fall 2026. The Lecturer will teach 8 courses per academic year at the undergraduate level. They will also be expected to perform service duties, serve on committees, and contribute toward student success. For this position, the main teaching responsibility will be to teach in the BUSA 1105, Business Value and You course.
BUSA 1105, Business Value and You, is a high-enrollment, first-year gateway course in the BBA curriculum. The course is designed to prepare students to become future-ready leaders by developing three core competency pillars: Managing Self & Others, Inspiring Innovation, and Creating Impact. Students build the self-awareness, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills needed to work effectively with others; explore innovation as business imperative; and learn to apply business knowledge to create meaningful economic, organizational, and societal value. The course introduces students to the fundamentals of how businesses operate in a global market economy and how organizations create value across functional areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, and management. Students also explore business ethics, legal and regulatory environments, leadership, and the role of markets in society. Emphasis is placed on applied learning, critical thinking, excel-based analysis, and the development of professional skills that support early academic engagement and long-term career success. The course integrates professional development skills development, by helping students build career readiness through résumé development, elevator pitches, LinkedIn profile refinement, and personal branding using platforms such as VMock and Handshake.
Required Experience
Teaching experience (online and in-person) in an AACSB-accredited institution.
Required Education
Qualified candidates will have completed a Terminal Degree or Masters Degree in a related business discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution.
