Department Information
Within this setting, the Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology is a dynamic and growing unit of over 50 faculty and staff serving over 2,000 majors enrolled in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department promotes undergraduate and graduate education, scholarship, research and grant procurement and a commitment to professional and public service. Each semester, the Human Anatomy and Physiology (A&P) program offers Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II lectures with laboratory experiences. Over 2,000 students complete these courses each year, and the courses are key requirements of a variety of WCHP majors including Exercise Science, Nutrition and Food Science, and several pre-clinical programs. This position will fill teaching needs within the Human Anatomy & Physiology program.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Department chair, the Lecturer of Human Anatomy & Physiology position requires 90% teaching, which includes a combination of Human A&P I & A&P II lecture and laboratory courses each fall and spring. The courses would be a mixture of in-person and online-synchronous. The remaining workload would be allocated to service (10%). The position is a 10-month non-tenure track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Master's degree in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Kinesiology, Biology or a closely related field by August 1, 2026, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in human anatomy and physiology.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology courses in a college or university.
- Potential for online teaching.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
