The University of Liverpool is seeking to employ a teaching and research focussed Lecturer in Clinical Psychology. You should have a PhD in psychology or closely related discipline. A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and registered status with the HCPC is desirable but not essential for this post. You will be responsible for teaching and research supervision on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme in the Department of Primary Care and Mental Health, playing a key role in shaping the next generation of clinical psychologists while advancing your own research within a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.

The Department and Institute have a clear commitment to real-world impact and offer a collaborative inter-disciplinary environment with close NHS links, allowing staff and trainees to develop the research skills and leadership opportunities necessary to build independent senior research careers within primary care and applied mental health research. We have a strong track record of NIHR and ESRC awards, assisted by support from the NIHR Research Design Service, with close links to the Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre (LCTC), which is part of the MRC North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research. The department has a robust commitment to public and partner involvement and supports a co-production culture linked to implementation science.

You should have a strong track-record of peer reviewed outputs aligned with clinical psychology and mental health research, commensurate with lectureship grade and experience. You will be expected to produce high quality research outputs and join one of the Department’s three key research themes: Prevention, Resilience, and Wellbeing; Hospital to Community; and Connected Health.

At the end of year three, you will be reviewed for confirmation in a permanent academic position.

Commitment to Diversity

The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
