The Department of History at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position of History, beginning August 2026. We seek candidates who demonstrate a passionate commitment to undergraduate teaching and who can teach a broad range of general education courses in history. The desired candidate will hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in History at the time of appointment. Applicants who can contribute to our general education offerings– lower-level survey courses in U.S., world, and thematic history– are particularly welcome to apply. The successful candidate will teach 10 courses per year per the needs of the department and in consultation with the Department Chair.

Required qualifications: Must hold the appropriate terminal degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching.
