Lecturer in French as a Foreign Language
Position Description
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Lecturer in French as a Foreign Language position with teaching responsibilities based at the Zayed Military University (ZMU) campus.

Key Accountabilities
Teaching
- Design and deliver undergraduate French courses, primarily within the Foundation Year.
- Develop engaging, gamified teaching materials, assessments and learning activities that foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, language awareness, and students’ ability to engage in autonomous learning.
Student Support and Academic Advising
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
- Support the development of students’ analytical skills.
Academic and Administrative Service
- Participate in departmental and university service activities.
- Contribute to program development, curriculum review, and academic governance where appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree/PhD Degree preferred in French as a Foreign Language or any other relevant discipline from an accredited higher education institute.
- 5 years of experience in teaching French as a Foreign Language preferably within the higher education sector.
- Professional proficiency in English is mandatory. IELTS certification or equivalent qualification is an asset.
- Strong commitment to effective and student-centred teaching practices.
- Readiness and capacity to supervise and mentor students.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural academic environment.
- Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.
- Advanced pedagogical skills and proficiency in educational technologies and online learning platforms are considered an asset.
