As a design-led landscape architect, you will have the opportunity to join the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, known for its global leadership in built environment education. You will contribute to teaching and program leadership while engaging with a vibrant academic community. This role allows you to shape the future of landscape architecture, fostering collaboration across disciplines and strengthening connections with the profession.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and Innovate in Teaching: Deliver core design studios, coordinate professional practice subjects, and engage students through design-based learning.
• Advance Research and Scholarship: Conduct and collaborate on research initiatives, publishing findings and presenting at conferences.
• Strengthen Professional Connections: Build relationships with industry bodies and design practices, enhancing program visibility and value.
• Mentor and Support: Guide students and early-career designers towards professional registration and practice.

You may be a great fit if:
You will be an experienced landscape architect with a passion for teaching and research, possessing a strong understanding of contemporary design practices and a collaborative approach to engage with colleagues and industry.
You may also:

• Have a PhD or equivalent in landscape architecture with professional experience.
• Demonstrate excellence in design studio teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build networks with industry.
• Have experience in academic administration and a willingness to undertake various roles.
• Be capable of engaging with community and industry for collaborative research.

Your new team – The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of inhabited environments. It actively seeks to extend the linkages between education, research and practice in the built environment, and maintains excellent and extensive relationships with members of the built environment professions, government, professional associations and the wider community.
The Faculty has over 200 staff and 3000 students, one third of whom are international. It is responsible for the undergraduate Bachelor of Design degree, and offers majors in architecture, landscape architecture, property, construction, and urban planning.
The Faculty’s graduate school, the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), teaches accredited masters courses across the professional disciplines of Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban Design and Urban Planning.
