Lecturer in Medical Radiation Sciences (Diagnostic Radiography) (Teaching Intensive)
About the Role
As Lecturer in Medical Radiation Sciences (Diagnostic Radiography) (Teaching Intensive), you will contribute across three key areas within the School of Health Sciences: Teaching and Learning, Educational Scholarship/Research, and Service and Engagement, aligned with the University of Newcastle’s Looking Ahead Strategic Plan 2030.
You will deliver high-quality education in diagnostic radiography through the teaching, development, and coordination of undergraduate courses that support the strategic objectives of the School and the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing.
In this role, you will also advance educational research and scholarship in diagnostic radiography, strengthen collaborations across the discipline, multidisciplinary teams, and industry partners, and actively participate in the University’s educational and research networks.
About you
The appointee must have a PhD in a related field or be in the final stages of writing up your PhD for submission.
You will contribute to administrative, service, and community engagement activities across the School, the College, the University, and the profession.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Expertise: A doctoral qualification/PhD (or near completion).
- Experience: Have clinical experience, and be of good standing in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography).
- Registration: Currently hold or be eligible for an AHPRA Registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner.
- Quality Teaching: The ability to deliver engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences supported by student feedback.
- Curriculum Development: Contributing to course development, coordination, and collaboration on curriculum design.
- Research: A record of publications or high-quality educational scholarship, with evidence of research collaborations, partnerships, and an impact on practice, policy, or innovation.
- Engagement: The ability to contribute effectively to internal committees, share service responsibilities, and foster emerging external collaborations.
- Supervision: Willingness to be involved in supervising Honours, Master’s, and/or Higher Degree Research projects.
