Senior Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography)
About the Role
As the Senior Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography), you will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and engagement within the School of Health Sciences. You will contribute to the development and delivery of curricula across the undergraduate Diagnostic Radiography program, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that prepare future health professionals for diverse clinical settings.
You will be working within a collaborative team to strengthen the discipline of Diagnostic Radiography teaching, research, and engagement. Your work as part of the team will help to attract external funding, supervising Higher Degree Research candidates, and contribute to the School’s national and emerging international research profile.
You will also make meaningful contributions to program governance, curriculum innovation, and external engagement, fostering strong professional, clinical, and industry relationships that enhance both teaching and research outcomes.
About you
You will be an experienced academic who brings expertise in Diagnostic Radiography, with an established program of research and a commitment to educational excellence. You will hold (or be eligible for) AHPRA registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer. You will contribute to administrative, service, and community engagement activities across the School, the College, and the University.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Expertise: Completed a PhD in a related field or be in the final stages of completion.
- Hold relevant professional qualifications in Diagnostic Radiography
- Have extensive clinical experience, and current registration with AHPRA.
- High-Quality Research: An established and rising trajectory of research publications and non-traditional research outputs, with growing recognition nationally and emerging international profile.
- Funding Success: Demonstrated capacity to secure research funding and foster research opportunities for emerging scholars.
- Supervision: Experience supervising honours, master’s, and/or HDR students, with timely completions and strong supervision practices.
- Quality Teaching: Evidence of high-quality teaching and the ability to innovate in response to feedback, enhancing student success and learning outcomes.
- Leadership in Learning and Teaching: Recent leadership in course design, program convening, curriculum development, and peer mentoring across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Engagement: Strong contributions to internal University service and meaningful external engagement, including developing international collaborations and professional networks.
