Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess at minimum, a Master’s degree from a recognised university, in Oral Surgery or Certificate/Fellowship in Oral Surgery or Certificate/Fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Candidates should also possess:
- Ideally at least three (3) years’ teaching experience in the field of Oral Surgery at the undergraduate level
- Expertise in Dentoalveolar Surgery
Candidates with the following would have an advantage:
- Prior experience in a hospital environment
- A good record of research and publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
The following would be considered assets:
- Evidence of prior success in attracting external research and development funding
- Evidence of programme or project design, development and implementation
- Expertise in Implantology and Grafting techniques
- Expertise in Sedation techniques
Candidate should be registered or be eligible to be registered with the Dental Council of T&T.
Key Responsibilities
- Didactic and Clinical teaching to undergraduate students, postgraduate students and Dental Interns
- Working closely with staff in the Faculty of Medical Sciences in providing quality leadership in teaching and curriculum development
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research
- Participating in clinically oriented problem-based learning activities
- Supporting University assessment and examination activities
- Conducting impactful research and publications
- Managing patients in a hospital and outpatient setting
