The Opportunity
Join our dynamic Physiotherapy Discipline and play a key role in delivering and advancing education in cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic physiotherapy. As a Lecturer in Physiotherapy, you will contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and research within the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program, while supporting the preparation of students for contemporary professional practice. Working closely with the Discipline Lead, clinical partners, and fellow academics, you will help ensure our graduates are highly skilled, work-ready, and aligned with professional and accreditation standards.

You will:
- deliver high-quality teaching and contribute to curriculum development and coordination in cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic physiotherapy across undergraduate programs;
- establish and maintain strong clinical, industry, and community partnerships that support student learning, work-integrated learning, and curriculum relevance; and
- develop a growing research profile aligned with the School’s research priorities, including publications, grant activity, and supervision of Honours and higher degree research students.
About you:
You are a motivated and collegial academic with expertise in cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic physiotherapy and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. You bring effective communication and organisational skills, enjoy working collaboratively, and contribute positively to an inclusive and high-performing academic environment.
You will possess:
- Current registration to practice physiotherapy with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and a minimum of five years’ clinical experience in cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic physiotherapy;
- Completion or near-completion of a PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent accreditation and standing;
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a teacher, evidenced through student feedback, peer review, and/or student learning outcomes, with the capacity to contribute to curriculum design and delivery in higher education;
- Evidence of an emerging research profile aligned with physiotherapy or health priorities, including publications, participation in research teams, and/or supervision of Honours or higher degree research students; and
- Strong communication, organisational, and collegial skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academic, clinical, and industry stakeholders to support high-quality student outcomes.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications or advanced clinical experience in cardiorespiratory and/or orthopaedic physiotherapy;
- Experience in physiotherapy curriculum development, course coordination, or academic administration; and
- Experience as a clinical educator or supervisor across acute, rehabilitation, or community-based settings.
