"Lecturer in Professional Law (Teaching & Scholarship)"

Cardiff Professional Legal Studies (CPLS) is the department within the School of Law and Politics which currently offers the Graduate Diploma in Law, Solicitors Practice Course and Bar Training Course - postgraduate routes to professional qualification for solicitors and barristers. Cardiff University is the only Russell Group University to offer all of all these courses. CPLS also provides nationwide assessment of Duty Solicitors, Police Station Representatives, and expert witnesses. Its courses – which are delivered by professionally qualified staff - are well established, highly regarded within the profession and command excellent levels of satisfaction from students.

The School wishes to appoint a suitably qualified lecturer able to contribute to the teaching of all of all its programmes but focussed on the courses delivered by CPLS. The ability to teach on one or more vocational subjects on the Bar Training Course and the Solicitors Practice Course is essential, as is the ability to deliver legal skills training.

This position is part time (0.4FTE - 14 hours per week), fixed term for one year and available immediately.

Salary: £51,753 - £56,535 per annum, pro rata for hours worked (Grade 7)
