As a Lecturer in pre-clinical veterinary disciplines, you will inspire and educate the next generation of veterinarians through engaging teaching in infectious diseases (virology), molecular biology, genetics, and livestock breeding—bringing cutting-edge science into the classroom.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching: Deliver high-quality teaching, coordinate courses, and contribute to engaging, contemporary curriculum design across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Research: Develop a strong research profile through publications, collaborative projects, and securing competitive funding, contributing to impactful outcomes in the field.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Support and mentor Honours and HDR students, while contributing to team development, recruitment, and performance management.
- Citizenship and Service: Build partnerships with industry and stakeholders, contribute to academic service and administration, and uphold UQ values through collaboration and leadership.

Full-time permanent position
Base salary will be in the range $117,120.53 - $138,769.70 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level B)
Based at our Gatton Campus.
About You
- Degree in Veterinary Science registrable in Queensland and a postgraduate research degree (PhD or MPhil) in veterinary sciences or a related discipline.
- Growing profile in teaching and research within the discipline, with evidence of:
- High-quality teaching at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels across diverse settings
- Course coordination and curriculum development
- Developing track record of publications in refereed journals, conference presentations, and successful acquisition and management of external research funding.
- Experience supervising Honours and HDR students to successful completion.
- Contribution to meaningful internal service roles and engagement in external professional activities.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Professional profile that complements or enhances existing expertise within the School and broader University.
- Educational qualifications such as graduate certificates, diplomas, or fellowships are desirable.
