About the Role
Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer in Women’s and Gender Studies to contribute to teaching excellence across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, coordinating topics, and supporting curriculum development. You will play a key role in enhancing the student experience and promoting the professional development of students.
As a Teaching Specialist, you will:
- Create, coordinate and deliver inspiring teaching informed by contemporary feminist and critical theories, across Women’s and Gender Studies topics.
- Provide academic support, counselling, and guidance to students.
- Contribute to curriculum development, topic coordination, and internal and external accreditation activities.
About You
You are a passionate and student-focused educator, committed to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering meaningful learning outcomes. An excellent communicator, you build positive relationships with staff, students, and industry partners, and actively contribute to a collaborative and supportive learning environment. You bring enthusiasm for curriculum development, teaching innovation, and mentoring students to achieve their full potential.
You will also demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in Women’s and/or Gender Studies or a related area.
- Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching and curriculum development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders.
- Experience in teaching international students and interdisciplinary programs is desirable.
