Department Information
Within this setting, the mission of the School of Accountancy, which is fully accredited by AACSB International, is to provide excellence in accounting education through teaching, research, and service. We recognize our responsibility to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate accounting education. Our Legal Studies instructors teach the following undergraduate courses: Legal Environment of Business and Employment Law and Legislative Compliance. The members of this team are housed in the School of Accountancy. The School enrolls more than 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate degree programs and employs 18 full-time accounting and legal studies faculty members.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of the School of Accountancy, the legal studies Lecturer requires teaching undergraduate business law courses and service responsibilities. The position is a full time 10-month appointment beginning August 1, 2026, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Juris doctorate degree by August 1, 2026.
- Successful passage of a state bar examination.
- Evidence of the potential for above average teaching ability.
- Evidence of effective communications skills.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of law practice.
- Experience teaching undergraduate students.
