Job Details

Baylor University seeks to fill a Full-Time Lecturer position in Child and Family Studies within the Department of Human Sciences and Design. This non-tenure track appointment is a renewable full-time, benefits-eligible, teaching-focused position within a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year renewable promotion path to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates. We seek candidates who are committed to academic excellence and who will contribute to Baylor’s mission by fostering a caring, faith-informed learning environment. Responsibilities: The individual who holds this position will be responsible for mentoring students and teaching undergraduate classes covering human development and family relations areas, such as parenting, family policy, cultural and global contexts, stress and resilience, and developmental disabilities. University, community, and professional service are expected.

Qualifications: Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for a full-time lecturer position in Child and Family Studies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in human development, family studies, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrate evidence of, or potential for, successful undergraduate teaching, and the capacity to teach a variety of human development and family sciences courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree in human development, family studies, or a closely related field
  • Active participation in organizations that support children, youth, and families
  • Professional experience in a related industry (e.g., healthcare, human service and development, non-profit)
  • Certification in Family Life Education (CFLE).
