The School of Nursing provides programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is offered through a traditional track (BSN) and an accelerated track (ABSN). The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FPMHNP) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Valdosta State University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for teaching up to 15 credit hours per semester and providing service to the school, college, and university levels. Teaching responsibilities may include engaging undergraduate nursing students through clinical experiences, simulation-based learning, and/or classroom instruction. Faculty are encouraged to bring creativity, mentorship, and evidence-based strategies to foster student growth and professional readiness.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Teaching and Service - 100%
Teaches classes and meets assigned service obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in nursing from an accredited university/college.
- Unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.
- At least 3 years of practice as a registered nurse within the most recent 7 years.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant's career stage.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
- Record of mentoring students.
- Experience in mental health nursing and/or obstetrical nursing.
