Lecturer or Assistant Professor - Cardiothoracic Imaging
Position Description
The Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) and the University of Toronto are recruiting a radiologist in Cardiothoracic Imaging.
The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is May 1, 2026, or slightly thereafter.

- Over 50 subspecialty radiologists
- Supports the Odette Cancer Centre and the Schulich Heart Centre
- Largest trauma centre in Canada
Equipment & Facilities:
- 4 new dual-energy CT scanners
- 2 3Tesla MRI scanners
- 2 1.5Tesla MRI scanners
- 1 PET-CT scanner and 1 research PET-MR scanner
Cardiothoracic Imaging Focus:
- Thoracic Imaging: oncology, emergency & trauma, airways, parenchymal, and interstitial lung diseases
- Cardiac Imaging: structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, ischemic/non-ischemic cardiomyopathies, adult congenital heart disease, TAVR imaging
Responsibilities
- Work across all thoracic and cardiac imaging modalities, including CXR, CT, MRI
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds, resident and fellows teaching rounds
- Teach medical students, radiology residents, and cardiothoracic fellows
- Participate in on-call rotation program
- Engage in research and professional development with protected academic time
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent
- Board-certified or Board-eligible in Diagnostic Imaging (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, American Board of Radiology, or international equivalent)
- Eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- At least one year post-residency fellowship in thoracic or cardiothoracic imaging
- Experience reporting thoracic CXR, CT, MRI and teaching thoracic imaging
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and research
- Strong team player committed to patient care and education
Academic Rank and Salary
- Commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Compensation based on a fee-for-service model
- Estimated income: $300,000 CAD per annum, with opportunities for increase based on experience and academic credentials
