Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Water Infrastructure Engineering
About the Roles
Join RMIT's School of Engineering to deliver high-impact teaching and applied research in Water Infrastructure Engineering. Working from Melbourne's CBD campus, you will collaborate with students, researchers and industry partners in areas including water infrastructure, fatberg management, sewer corrosion and wastewater treatment. Appointment may be made at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) level.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lecturer (Level B), you will:
- Undertake independent teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level including: designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback.
- Undertake independent professional activities, scholarship and/or conduct high quality research activities appropriate to the profession or discipline including: managing individual projects within timelines and budgets and ensuring compliance with quality and reporting requirements; publishing research results in high quality outlets as lead or co-author; preparing and submitting external research funding applications; and supervising higher degree by research candidates.
- Undertake administration duties, which may include course coordination role or management of a small award program.
As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will also:
- Make original contributions in teaching and/or scholarship which expand knowledge or practice within the discipline including: designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback.
- Conduct and lead high quality research, recognised at the national level: developing highly successful research teams; managing research projects and programs within timelines and budget and ensuring compliance with quality and reporting requirements; regularly publishing research results in high quality outlets as lead author and in collaboration with other researchers; identifying appropriate funding sources and prepare successful external research funding submissions; supervising higher degree by research candidates.
- Participate in School and College strategy development and governance and make a significant contribution to administration activities of an organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level, which may include program management of a large award program or a number of smaller award programs.
