"Lecturer or Visiting Faculty / Adjunct Professor"

The School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Taejae University invites applications for a Lecturer or Visiting Faculty position to teach a single major elective course in a related field. This is a part-time, non-tenure track appointment for the Spring 2026 semester, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and program needs.

We seek passionate educators interested in advancing innovative higher education. Taejae University, a new undergraduate college based in Seoul, South Korea, is dedicated to cultivating tomorrow's global leaders through an active, transformative learning philosophy and a unique curriculum. Our diverse student body engages in academic and co-curricular activities across Taejae's global residential colleges. All courses are delivered as small, interactive online seminars in English, and faculty have the flexibility to teach from anywhere in the world.

The appointed faculty will be responsible for teaching one major elective course online in Spring 2026. Representative major elective courses include: Vision AI and Image Processing, Computational Decision Science, Computational Thinking and Data Literacy, Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Visualization, and Creative Coding for Computer Graphics Applications.

The appointed faculty may also have opportunities to participate in student mentoring or contribute to curriculum development, depending on expertise and interest. All teaching is conducted online, and there is no residency requirement. The compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The anticipated start date is March 2026, with some flexibility depending on the applicant's situation. New Lecturers are expected to participate in online faculty workshops for active learning and course development during the winter prior to the Spring 2026 semester. Separate contracts for course development and training during this period will be negotiated individually.

Basic Qualifications: Ph.D. (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science, Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Smart Cities, AI in Healthcare, Computer Vision, Industrial Automation, and other areas of AI technologies and applications; Ability to teach one of the above-mentioned major elective courses.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful instructional experience at the undergraduate level; Professional experience in industry or research institutions; Commitment to active learning pedagogies and openness to explore new teaching methods/technologies; Experience in developing engaging course materials, assignments, and assessments; Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
