Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor - Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the University of Otago is seeking up to six outstanding scholars in any area of Psychology to join our world-class academic department. Candidates in related fields, including neuroscience, with a strong interest and background in Psychology, are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates must have:

• A completed or nearly completed PhD with an established research focus in any area of Psychology.
• An outstanding record of research excellence or demonstrated potential.
• Research with strong scholarly and/or societal impact, complementing existing faculty strengths.
• Commitment to rigour, ethics in research and teaching, and collegiality.
• Excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, or potential for excellence.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing or maintaining a high-impact research programme, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals, obtaining external funding, and supervising postgraduate students.
• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Contributing to the department's operation and strategic direction.
• Commitment to supporting and succeeding Māori and Pacific students, aligned with the University's frameworks.

Salary scales:

• Lecturer: NZ$97,377 to NZ$114,943
• Senior Lecturer: NZ$120,494 to NZ$148,024
• Associate Professor: NZ$153,903 to NZ$168,537
• Professor: NZ$175,522 to NZ$211,625
