Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor, Psychology
About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding academic to join our Department of Psychological Sciences as a Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), or Associate Professor (Level D) to contribute and provide academic and professional leadership across Swinburne’s psychology programs, with a particular focus on advancing high-quality teaching, professional training, and research within the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology) and other postgraduate psychology courses.
In this role, you will contribute to or lead excellence in teaching through evidence-based pedagogy; curriculum innovation; clinical supervision; and the ongoing development and delivery of the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology). You will contribute to internal and external accreditation processes and support staff capability building, promote high-quality and consistent learning experiences for students, and contribute to Departmental and School initiatives and strategic priorities.
As a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor, you will also be expected to contribute to and/or lead an innovative and impactful research program. This will include producing high-quality scholarly outputs, supervising HDR students and developing and managing industry partnerships that strengthen the Department’s and School’s research profile.
At Level D, the role carries a stronger emphasis on academic leadership, staff mentoring, research leadership, and strategic contribution to teaching, research, and professional practice across the Department and School.
About You
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a University setting (Level B Preferred and Level C Essential)
- Demonstrated excellence in University teaching, curriculum development, and clinical supervision (Level D)
- Evidence of successful leadership in academic or professional settings (Level D)
- A track record of publications and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing research activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within multidisciplinary academic teams.
- High-level interpersonal, professional, and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- A Doctoral degree (PhD or DPsych).
- Registration with AHPRA with specialist endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology.
- Board-approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia
