The Department of Economics is a research-intensive department with healthy Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD programmes. The Department values both excellent teaching and research and provides the resources and opportunities for lecturers to achieve both, including teaching loads that allow significant time for research.
The role | Te mahi
We invite applications for permanent, full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions from candidates in all fields of Economics, with particular encouragement for those specialising in Macroeconomics and Macroeconometrics.
The successful applicant will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching offered by the Department. Supervision of postgraduate research students at Master’s, DBA and PhD level is also part of this role. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent and productive research programme.

• A PhD degree in Economics is essential.
• Proven track record of publication in high-quality journals.
• Experience with external research funding application.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Candidates who have not yet fully developed these skills and experience should be able to provide evidence of their potential to do so if they were appointed to the position.

The appointment range for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is $97,377 to $148,024 per annum.
