Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Accounting to join School of Accountancy, Faculty of Business and Law.
The School of Accountancy at QUT is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer who is passionate about teaching, research, and industry engagement. In this role, you will deliver and coordinate high-quality learning experiences across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, while contributing to curriculum development and innovative teaching initiatives that reflect the evolving needs of the accounting profession. You will also play an active role in the School’s research agenda, including publishing in high quality journals, securing funding and participating in cross-disciplinary projects. Strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders—including professional bodies, industry partners, and the broader academic community—is essential. What you need to succeed
Level B
- Completion of a doctorial qualification in accounting.
- Demonstrated high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including scholarly and innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
- Proven experience in course coordination, including curriculum design, redevelopment and effective management of teaching teams.
- Record of high-quality research publications in accounting journals and demonstrated success in attracting research funding.
- Experience contributing to administration in a university or professional setting, with ability to engage effectively in collaborative settings.
- Interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships that enhance teaching and research outcomes.
Level C
- Completion of a doctorial qualification in accounting.
- Demonstrated significant experience of high quality at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the use of innovative and evidence-based approaches to learning and teaching.
- Proven leadership in course coordination, including curriculum design, development and effective management of teaching teams.
- Established record of independent research contributions, successful supervision of higher degree research students and demonstrated success in obtaining external research income.
- Demonstrated leadership in fostering a high performing and collaborative culture in teaching and research.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and sustain internal and external partnerships that promote best practice and create opportunities for teaching and research.
