About the Lecturer in Acute Care Skills and Simulation (Level B)

The Lecturer in Acute Care Skills and Simulation plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, student-centred education within the College of Medicine and Public Health. This teaching-focused position draws on contemporary clinical practice to design and deliver innovative learning experiences, particularly in acute care and clinical simulation. The role involves curriculum development, assessment, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure graduates are work-ready and meet accreditation standards.

  • Deliver engaging teaching and assessment in clinical skills, including acute care and life support, using simulation-based methods.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, review, and innovation, incorporating advanced educational technologies.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to align learning outcomes with professional standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in College activities and maintain professional knowledge through ongoing development and scholarship.

You bring expertise in acute care and clinical simulation, along with a commitment to innovation in teaching practices. Your ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and maintain professional standards ensures you can contribute to curriculum development and accreditation processes while inspiring future health professionals.

  • Current registration with AHPRA and advanced life support accreditation, supported by substantial acute care experience.
  • Proven excellence in tertiary-level teaching, including simulation-based education and innovative learning strategies.
  • Strong curriculum development skills and understanding of accreditation requirements, with a student-focused approach.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and industry.

About the Senior Lecturer in Acute Care Skills and Simulation Role (Level C)

As a Senior Lecturer in Acute Care Skills and Simulation, you will provide academic leadership in teaching and curriculum development within the College of Medicine and Public Health. This role focuses on delivering innovative, student-centred education in clinical skills and simulation, while driving quality improvement and compliance across programs. You will lead course coordination, mentor staff and students, and contribute significantly to educational leadership and service at College and University levels.

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of clinical skills and simulation teaching, including acute care and life support training.
  • Coordinate topics and courses, ensuring curriculum innovation and alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Provide educational leadership through mentoring, dissemination of best practice, and integration of advanced teaching technologies.
  • Contribute to governance and service through leadership on committees, accreditation activities, and partnerships that enhance student success and employability.

About You

You are an accomplished clinician and educator with a proven record of leadership in teaching and curriculum development. Recognised for your expertise in clinical skills and simulation, you bring a student-centred approach and a commitment to educational innovation. Your ability to lead teams, coordinate programs, and engage nationally or internationally positions you as a key contributor to advancing excellence in medical education.

  • Current AHPRA registration and advanced life support accreditation, supported by substantial acute care experience.
  • Sustained excellence in tertiary-level teaching, including leadership in course and topic coordination and simulation-based education.
  • Demonstrated capacity for educational leadership, curriculum innovation, and integration of contemporary pedagogical practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience building partnerships and contributing to professional activities at local, national, or international levels.
