Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Department of Management, Marketing and Tourism at the UC Business School invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Lecturer-Senior Lecturer, below the bar (Assistant Professor) of Marketing with expertise in Digital Marketing.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose background (teaching, research, or professional) demonstrates the integration of data-driven decision-making and emerging technologies like AI applications in Marketing and/or related fields.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, maintain an active research agenda consistent with AACSB scholarly academic (SA) qualifications, and contribute to the service mission of the department, Business School, and university. Experience in applying analytics and AI tools to solve marketing challenges is strongly valued.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Digital Marketing, AI in Marketing, and related courses, using face-to-face, hybrid, and asynchronous online formats.
  • Maintain an active research agenda that advances knowledge in digital marketing, AI in marketing, meeting AACSB SA standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development by integrating emerging technologies, analytics software, and AI applications into marketing education.
  • Mentor students in academic and professional development, including data-driven projects, case competitions, and applied research opportunities.
  • Engage in service activities at the department, college, university, and professional levels.
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to develop integrated learning experiences.
  • Lead experiential learning initiatives such as live client projects, AI-driven simulations, or case competitions.

The standard teaching load is three-four courses per academic year, with opportunities for course load reductions through external grants.

Required Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field, from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Candidates close to completion of a PhD with a scheduled dissertation defense date prior to the employment start date will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualifications and evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching, research, or industry experience demonstrating familiarity with AI-enabled marketing tools or related emerging technologies.
  • Active engagement with industry partnerships, professional organizations, or applied research collaborations.

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies: Lecturer $94,181 - $113,616; Senior Lecturer $119,586 - $135,630.
