As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Statistics, you'll have the opportunity to develop a high-level research program in modern statistics with a focus on computational approaches, methodology and/or applications. You'll contribute to cutting-edge research, teach diverse audiences, and supervise students at all levels. You'll also collaborate with researchers across disciplines, leveraging the University of Melbourne's outstanding environment and resources.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Innovative Research: Develop and maintain a high-level research program, publish in top-quality outlets, and secure external research grants.
- Deliver Excellence in Teaching: Prepare and deliver lectures, develop curriculum, and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Engage in Academic Leadership: Participate in school committees, contribute to administrative functions, and engage in professional activities.
- Foster Collaboration and Outreach: Develop research links nationally and internationally and participate in community engagement and outreach activities.
You may be a great fit if: You are an accomplished researcher and educator in statistics or a closely related discipline, with a strong publication record, teaching experience, and the ability to secure research funding and collaborate across disciplines.
You may also:
- Have a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in statistics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate research excellence with a strong publication record in top-quality outlets.
- Possess the ability to develop and teach statistics and data science subjects at various levels.
- Show potential for attracting research funding through competitive grant schemes.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with diverse stakeholders.
