Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer Speech and Language Therapist

The University’s School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health is the University’s academic and professional home for Nursing, and the Allied Health Professions, and for all those interested in improving public health and well-being. Our mission is to facilitate, educate and innovate to improve lives.
The Role
We provide a pre-registration MSc SLT course, to widen access to careers within speech and language therapy. Our areas of professional and research interests within speech and language therapy include implementation and improvement science and health promotion.
We hope to recruit a colleague to join our academic team who shares our passion for supporting the development of speech and language therapy, who will contribute to our courses and research developments. We welcome applications from all areas of Speech and Language Therapy and particularly welcome candidates with any of the following expertise:
- A paediatric SLT with expertise in Developmental Language Disorder, Selective Mutism, Hearing Impairment, Paediatric Dysphagia and/or Stammering.
- An adult SLT with a specialism in Acquired Communication Disorders.
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with staff in Allied & Public Health and across the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health to advance interprofessional education and research.
The course is delivered at our Medway campus and attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align with the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on the Medway campus.

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Academic & Student Facing) Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
