Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
In this role, you will support the delivery of the Master of Marketing through Tuihono UC | UC Online, contributing to a high-quality and engaging online learning experience. You will work closely with the programme co-ordinator and the wider team at University of Canterbury to ensure smooth course delivery while fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment for students.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and managing course curriculum and content to support effective online delivery
- Supporting and engaging learners through timely communication, forum facilitation, and proactive follow-up
- Assessing, grading, and moderating student work in a fair, consistent, and timely manner
- Providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner development
- Facilitating live online sessions to enhance the learning experience
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless course administration and continuous improvement
- Contributing flexibly to additional tasks to support overall programme success

You are an emerging or established academic with expertise in marketing or a closely related discipline, informed by current research, scholarship, and/or professional practice. You bring a student-centred approach to teaching and are committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive online learning environment.
You are reflective in your practice and motivated to continuously develop your teaching capability, with the ability to apply effective and innovative pedagogical approaches that support a diverse range of learners to succeed. You are collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a team-oriented academic environment, contributing positively to both teaching delivery and broader programme activities.
Ideally, you will have:
- A postgraduate qualification in Marketing or a closely related discipline (PhD desirable)
- Relevant teaching and/or industry experience
- Experience delivering effective teaching in online or blended learning environments
- Evidence of reflective practice and ongoing professional development
- A commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success
