Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Cyber Security (Technical), UNSW Canberra

Employment type: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Duration: Continuing to commence 2025 or 2026.

Remuneration: Level B from $127,947 or Level C from $155,403 plus 17% super. Location: UNSW Canberra, City Campus.

Why Your Role Matters: These are key positions at Canberra School of Professional Studies. The successful candidates will contribute to the school’s teaching, research and administration through course development and delivery, research outputs and higher degree supervision, quality assurance, industry engagement, student support, and other administrative duties. We welcome applicants with strong technical expertise in cyber security and computer science. Areas of interest include cryptography, secure systems, cloud computing, threat detection, digital forensics, ethical hacking, and data science. We seek passionate academics eager to make a difference through innovative teaching, cutting-edge research, and professional engagements. The role reports to the Head of School.

Who You Are (skills and experience):

Lecturer (Level B): A PhD in a related discipline, plus relevant work experience. A good track record of research and publication and/or competitive research income. Demonstrated expertise in technical aspects of cybersecurity. Evidence of teaching and learning design, delivery, and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience with educational technologies and flexible delivery. Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues. Demonstrated experience with industries and professional bodies.

Senior Lecturer (Level C): In addition to Level B: Course and program development. Research outputs in high-impact journals. Research grant successes. Postgraduate supervisions. Academic administration and staff mentoring. Community and industry engagement.
