The School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences (SMCS) is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Mathematics to join our team based at our Albany campus in Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Join our Mathematics team and play a key role in delivering excellent teaching, impactful research, and meaningful service to the University and wider community. You will contribute to a collaborative academic environment that supports student success, advances knowledge in the discipline, and strengthens engagement with stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics teaching across face-to-face, online, and distance learning environments.
- Develop and maintain engaging, research-informed courses and assessments that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses.
- Maintain an active research programme, publishing high-quality scholarly outputs and contributing to academic conferences, seminars, and peer review activities.
- Seek opportunities to attract research funding and contribute to the University's research profile.
- Build positive relationships with professional, industry, and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to School, College, and University committees, administration, and initiatives that foster a collegial and inclusive environment.
- Support the University's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its role in serving the wider community.

Mōu | About you
A relevant doctoral (PhD) qualification in Mathematics or a related subject and demonstrated teaching and research expertise is essential. The successful applicant will have a good track record in a related field of research including the ability to produce refereed journal articles, along with a willingness to pursue external research funding.
Recent relevant teaching experience, preferably within a university or other tertiary teaching environment is essential. Experience of electronic and online technologies in teaching is preferred. Experience gained in industry and/or on a postdoctoral fellowship is desirable.
