LEO Intermittent Lecturer
Teach credit-bearing courses as part of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance arts entrepreneurship and leadership curriculum (ARTSADMN); deliver effective introduction to a variety of performing arts legal topics, informed by today's best practices and contextualized by up-to-date doctrine/cases; provide mentorship and guidance for enrolled students and assist in advancing their knowledge towards practical applications (e.g. translate/unpack essential legal issues that apply to aspiring professional artists); provide timely, detailed feedback to students on all coursework and assignments.
Law degree or commensurate professional experience; prior demonstrated success teaching at the collegiate level; experience working across the performing arts (music, theatre, musical theatre and dance) and capacity to teach content that applies across those disciplines; experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and interests; commitment to working collaboratively with faculty across the performing arts leadership spectrum to calibrate course content as needed.
Union affiliation - This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
