SOH: Where Passion Meets Impact - Join the School of Health!
Are you eager to make a difference in health education and research? Join our dedicated team of researchers and educators at the School of Health (SOH). We have a strong focus on cultivating healthy minds, bodies, and environments through our teaching, research, and outreach efforts. With a purpose that extends regionally and impacts globally, we are committed to advancing knowledge in the health sector and improving the well-being of our communities. Together, let's create healthier communities now and for the generations to come.
This role offers an exciting chance to shape the future of nursing education at UniSC. You will lead and inspire the delivery of innovative, forward-thinking nursing programs, build strong health partnerships to expand work-integrated learning, and develop graduates ready to take on leadership and research roles in the health sector. Your research will enhance the School’s agenda, tackling contemporary health challenges and making a real impact on communities.
Two full-time opportunities are now available, with one role based at UniSC Caboolture and the other at UniSC Moreton Bay.

You will:

- Drive impactful research through high-quality work with real-world benefit, leading projects, securing funding, and supervising higher degree research candidates;
- Strengthen the University by supporting School and University initiatives, governance, and capacity-building; and
- Build partnerships by developing industry, health, and community links that create opportunities for students and deliver mutual benefit.

About you
Our ideal candidate is someone who’s passionate about making a real difference for students, research, and the broader community. You’re a thoughtful and inspiring teacher, keeping your skills and knowledge fresh while designing engaging, forward-thinking programs that help students succeed. You’re also a committed researcher, driving meaningful projects, building partnerships, and sharing your work with both expert and wider audiences. Beyond this, you actively contribute to University life, creating connections within and beyond UniSC that enhance learning, research, and community impact. You model a positive, inclusive, and respectful culture, and you thrive on collaboration, innovation, and lifting those around you.
You will possess:
- A doctoral qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent accreditation and standing.
- Registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A strong record as an effective and inspiring teacher, evidenced by student feedback, peer review, and the ability to design, develop, and lead higher education curricula.
- A track record of impactful research, including publications, grant success, research team contributions, supervision of higher degree candidates, and demonstrable outcomes or impact.
- Leadership and personal qualities that foster a positive academic environment, supporting high engagement and achievement for staff and students.
- Experience in academic administration, including program coordination or related University functions.
- Active involvement in relevant professional bodies, community groups, or professional practice networks.
- A commitment to ongoing academic development and a drive to continually enhance your skills and practice.
Desirable: Recognition for excellence in teaching and/or research, internally or externally.
