Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year.

Department: Marvin Library Learning Commons
Part-Time Librarian
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an accredited institution OR Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science in progress and is obtainable within 6 months; experience providing reference services; demonstrated library instruction or other teaching or training experience.
Preferred: Information literacy instruction experience in an academic library setting.
The part-time Librarians report to the Dean of the Marvin Library Learning Commons and perform the following duties:
- Provides face-to-face and virtual reference services, including weekend/evening shifts as needed.
- Delivers information literacy instructional services.
- Assists in maintaining subject guides on Springshare platform.
- Attends faculty and department meetings as needed.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
- Engages in professional development and continuing development activities.
- Performs other duties as specified within the Faculty Contract
The hourly rate for part-time Librarians is $39.75.
