Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has served as a healthcare delivery service, providing high-quality, low cost healthcare to patients within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. The John Montford Unit in Lubbock, TX is an accredited regional medical and mental health facility, within the TTUHSC Managed Care system which specializes in providing access to a comprehensive array of medical, psychiatric, and ancillary healthcare services. A multidisciplinary team of 200+ healthcare professionals connect their passion with their work to support more than 55,000 patient encounters annually to ensure TTUHSC, a nationally recognized leader in correctional health care, delivers on its mission of providing access to high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in an assigned correctional facility. They function within their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and practice setting. Work is performed under the direction of a registered nurse as part of a total correctional managed health care team in providing safe and competent care to patients.
