POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Hernandez-Nunez Lab seeks to understand how the brain and body communicate as an integrated network. This includes studying (1) how brain circuits and behavior are modulated by viscerosensory information, (2) how the central nervous system works together with motor and sensory autonomic circuits to implement feedback control of organ function, and (3) the function of intraorgan nervous systems.

The Hernandez-Nunez Lab is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 (LSRP 1) with wet lab experience, ideally (but not necessarily) in zebrafish. The LSRP 1 will work under the general supervision of Prof. Luis Hernandez-Nunez and will be part of our multidisciplinary research team. The LSRP 1's primary focus will be on studying organism-wide circuits for brain-body interactions in larval zebrafish. The project will involve using spatial transcriptomics and other molecular profiling methods, as well as generating transgenic zebrafish. The LSRP 1 will receive mentorship in zebrafish systems neuroscience, modern microscopy techniques, and data analysis directly from Prof. Hernandez-Nunez and from senior lab members.

This is a 100% FTE, 1-year fixed-term, non-exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus.
